LATEST : March 2015 Opinion poll - Busia County

In the first quarter of 2015 (Jan,Feb, March)  an opinion poll was carried out civil society organizations in the County of Busia.

Unlike most opinion polls - this one left out the common question "whom would you vote if an election was held today?"  -  instead it focused on  issues of compatibility , accessibility, conduct of personal assistants, performance of MCAs and perceived promising personalities.

These are the findings

ACCESSIBILITY

According to most Busia County residents & natives the most accesible of their leaders are
1. The Women Representative - Mama Florence Mutua-Waingah
2.  The Governor - H.E Ojaamong
3. Butula MP - Hon.Onyura
4. Leader of Majority - Josephat Wandera

The most inaccessible leader turned out to be the good Senator - Hon.Amos Wako -- very few wondered if he even owns a phone or whether he sleeps in his home (while on tour of county events such as the recent investors conference).

COMPATIBILITY

Most of the respondents  (90%) were of the opinion that the current Governor Hon.Ojaamong would best be suited to partner with Mr.Hillary Mainga as his runningmate for 2017

5% were of the opinion that the Paul Otuoma ticket would be better if complemented by Wakili Namada Simoni
3% of the respondents felt that Eng.Vincent Sidai would do best if he partnered with Media mogul, Josephat Odipo

2% on the other hand still felt that Imo ought to be their Governor come 2017 deputised by Hon.Chris Okemo

OF PROUD & RUDE PERSONAL ASSISTANTS (PAs)

A huge number of the respondents noted with a lof of concern that there was a special breed of rude, proud and unhelpful PAs

The most notorious being the PAs of Hon. Mary Emaase, Hon.Arthur Odera and Hon.Amos Wako

on the flipside - the most helpful and courteous were Ms.Maketso of the Hon.Ojaamong and Ms.Nafula attached to Mama Florence Waingah

MOST PERFOMING MCAs

In the spirit of devolution, the poll assessed the performance of MCAs as opposed to MPs

The MCAs who won praise far and beyond their wards were :  Top on the list - Obwogo John Egesa of Nangina Ward followed by Khabwera Nakitari of Bunyala West Ward and Goddy Mareba of Marachi Central Ward
