Are they getting a raw deal? Is their MP flouting the most basic of CDF procurement regulations?
These are just some of the concerns and queries being raised by area residents.
Apparently, a notion thatis fast taking root amongst the people is that locals are being left out of all CDF tenders and contracts as suppliers and contractors from Mumias have become the MP's favourites
Hence the following queries are being raised
1. Are local women and youth groups getting any consideration when tenders are awarded ?
2. How comes contractors from Mumias are outshining the locals as well as contractors from any other part of the country as far as CDF tenders are concerned?
3. Was there any consultation with community members as concerns the type and price range before the the constituency vehicle was procured - was the process transparent and competitive ?
4. How comes cases are being reported of CDF bursaries being awarded to students from far away constituencies who have no roots in Teso South Constituency ?
5. Is the composition of the CDF commitee reflective of the face of the constituency ?
6. Numerous cases have apparently been brought to your attention as concerns embezzlement of CDF funds allocated to various projects - have you taken any action so far against these wayward officials in the implementation team ?
If the MP does indeed responds to these queries then, the populace will be a very relieved lot.
